OFAC Designates Two Iranian Finance Facilitators For Crypto Shadow Banking

The Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned two Iranian monetary facilitators for coordinating over $100 million price of cryptocurrency in oil gross sales for the Iranian authorities, a September 16 press launch reveals.

According to the Tuesday press release, Iranian nationals Alireza Derakhshan and Arash Estaki Alivand “used a community of entrance corporations in a number of overseas jurisdictions” to switch the digital property.
